Google for Education: Unit 2

Unit 2: EXPAND YOUR ACCESS TO HELP AND LEARNING

Teachers and students will run into things they do not know and so it is important for teachers to know where to go to find help. If a teacher gets stuck and has a questions on some Google tool they can Google Search the question, search the Google Help Center, or ask other educates on the Google for Education Help Forums. Google Help Center provides step by step help to questions about Google programs. The Google Help Forums are made up of teachers who ask and answer questions.

Teachers can also use Personal Learning Network (PLN). PLNs are a supportive network of educators that teachers can learn from. Learners from different networks can really learn a lot from each other. A way to start your PLN is to join a Google Educator Group (GEG). GEG often use Google Groups, which allow educators to get in contact and then stay in contact with each other. Anther tool to build PLN is the Google for Education Directory which helps teachers find the right kind of expert for what they need. There are many people who are trained to help educators, like Google certified trainers, certified innovators, reference schools, education partners and transformation partners.

Aristotle said, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” As teachers we should work to grow and learn together. We work to learn from each other and encourage one another to be life long learners.
