      • Instructed classes ranging in size from 2-9 students depending on the student’s schedule.

      • Adapted curriculum to meet academic and fine motor skills for students with seizure disorders, intellectual disabilities, language disorders, down syndrome, visual impairments, and specific learning disabilities in reading and math.

      • Led extensive instruction on daily routines, calendar reading, pattern identification, and number/letter identification.

      • Partnered with students in inclusive environments and provided aid with their work.

      • Incorporated small group activities to support students’ comprehension of reading and phonics.

      • Prepared and presented a sensory read-aloud using various objects to scaffold learning for the student with a visual impairment.

    • Learning Support | Sharpsville Elementary School | Sharpsville, PA – Fall 2020

      • Constructed a functional behavior analysis (FBA) and analyzed a student’s behavior through a case study to inform instruction for the student in the class.

      • Managed small group activities prepared by the classroom teacher and scaffolded students in inclusion activities in the language arts classroom.  

      • Co-taught a lesson on place values with the use of math manipulatives and a lesson on pronouns, antecedents, and context clues, with a PowerPoint and real-world examples.

    • 3rd Grade Sceince | Slippery Rock Elementary School | Slippery Rock, PA – Spring 2022

      • Taught using PowerPoints, videos, and visuals to increase the students understating of ecosystems, producers, consumers, and food chains, within a two-week unit plan.

      • Facilitated student exploration of ecosystems by guiding them on building their own ecosystem in a terrarium and encouraging students to keep a log of their observations.

      • Engaged students with the needed vocabulary through a class-wide read-aloud.  

    • PreK | Early Childhood Center | Grove City, PA – Fall 2021

      • Planned a 5-day unit plan with the theme of fall, utilizing Pennsylvania learning standards for early childhood education, specifically for PreK.

      • Created and guided students through a season identification and association activity and built the student’s categorizing skills by instructing them to sort items by size, color, and shape.

      • Encouraged math and literacy skills in counting activities and letter identification and writing.

      • Modeled fluency in reading and reviewed vocabulary through the use of read-alouds with fall-themed books.

    • 6th Grade | Grove City Area Middle School | Grove City, PA – Spring of 2021

      • Collaborated with 4 other student teachers to do a 2 ½ weeklong unit plan on the book A Long Walk to Water.

      • Guided students through an interactive activity on water filtration by constructing water filters in lab.

      • Prepared a lesson with small groups to inform students about the background and history of the book, and provided a number of maps and objects for students to interact with.

      • Designed worksheets and activities for students to build fluency and vocabulary, work on synthesis through writing, and gain a broader understanding of Sudan’s geography and history.

      • Encouraged and worked with children, grades kindergarten – 6th, in a low socioeconomic area.

      • Taught lessons on different Biblical stories, prepared interactive activities, and prompted reading with the children.

      • Coached gym-style physical games and organized art activities with the children.

      • Accompanied children and other interns on weekly field trips.

      • Nannied 6 children, ages 9 months to 8 years old.

    • Youth Mental Health First Aid- I took a day-long course to become certified in YMHFA.

    • Syd McCormick Award 2023- the faculty of the Grove City Education Department vote every year to bestow this award upon the student that we believe best embodies the values of our program as our “student teacher of the year.
